Dungeon Quest Reborn Mage Build

Direct answerThe Mage build is the Spell axis named in the official description: spell weapons and abilities as your core damage. The open question — how spells scale — is unresolved in current sources, so this page builds everything on verified mechanics and labels the rest HOLD.
What the Spell axis means
Mages are the Spell setup in the official wording: your damage comes from spell weapons and active abilities. That makes ability drops more valuable on this axis than on Physical — but only after you confirm how a given spell scales (see Abilities).
Mage gear decisions
- Weapon: Spell-axis weapons are your core drops — run them through the Upgrade Finder.
- Abilities: the heart of the Spell axis; keep spells that match your card-verified scaling.
- Armor: path-neutral per current evidence (see Gear).
The Spell Power question
Some current guides ask directly: do Reborn spells scale with Spell Power, with Physical, or both? Sources do not agree yet. This page treats that question as Conflicting: no build advice here depends on an unverified scaling model.
When the build is working
Consistent clears plus Upgrade Finder EQUIP verdicts drying up means the Spell axis has stopped improving at your tier — move up (see Progression).
HOLD: spell damage values and scaling models from original-game pages are Legacy Only. A mage build without card-verified spells is a guess.
